Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – PC Review
Gameplay – Multiplayer
Although having a strong and solid single player campaign, the online component is the mainstay of the entire Battlefield franchise. Being pitted against thousands of other gamers, your natural “survival of the fittest” instinct kicks in and you immediately have the drive to be the best. From the very first battle, your adrenaline takes you over and you are thrust into war mode as you aim to dominate.
Such is the nature of these online battles. For beginners, it is quite likely that as you try your best to learn the maps, you will get yourself killed many times. After that experience, you should gain your bearings and then your skills will finally be fully called upon as you try to show yourself approved.
There are four character classes, or kits, in which you can choose to specialize. These are Assault, Engineer, Medic and Recon. Assault is your usual middle-of-the-road run and gun class. Typically armed with heavy combat rifles and grenade launchers, they are the front line of your offensive squad. With enough experience, assault personnel will also be able to provide ammunition for team members via Ammo Boxes.
Engineers are the vehicle and explosive specialists. They are the ones that repair your team’s vehicles and typically lead the charge to destroy enemy armour. Equipped with Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs) and mines for those purposes, they are also equipped with silenced Sub-Machine Guns (SMGs) for human targets.
Medics are vital on the battlefield as all soldiers get wounded from time to time and need a med-kit here or there to get patched up. If a soldier is critically wounded (read: dying) a medic has a short respawn time of usually only 15 seconds, in which to revive him with the use of his defibrillators, or as they are more commonly called, shock paddles. Medics are typically armed with Light Machine Guns (LMGs) and they provide extensive firepower and give very good cover fire if necessary.
Recon specialists are more commonly known as snipers. Probably the most hated and despised class of all, these stealthy little devils usually pick off enemies from a distance using their sniper rifles. They can also use special binoculars to call in mortar strikes on enemy targets. This strike is most effective against enemies holed up in a building. Even a stationary tank can fall victim to this onslaught of explosions.

Thanks for the nice review! Can we expect some day a CPU scaling article with this game including Core 2 processors?
Thank you for your support.
In regards to you wanting a CPU scaling article, I will definitely consider doing one. ABT always tries to satisfy its loyal readers/members.
Just stay tuned in the forum. Thanks.
Yeah, I sure would like that too.
Very glossy review, although the gameplay is second to none the glitches can be enormous. This game can kill your system and is considered unplayable by some, check out EA’s bad company 2 forum for thread after thread and page after page of crashes and bugs on multiple high end systems. It can cause system crashes both to desktop and hard crashes where your system will hang.
I agree with the score (when it works) but it’s worth noting it’s glaring faults
Here’s a cpu usage screenshot of me playing in a 32 person rush server using a Q9550 and a GTX 260.

Playing on my E8400 was not good times.
