Cooler Master’s ErgoStand keeps your Notebook Cooler with Style
The Packing & Contents
The Cooler Master NotePal’s ErgoStand is packaged to sell itself by advertising its features on the box and it is an excellent introduction to their new product.
Its contents are also well protected against damage by minimal but effective packing material.
Here is what you get inside the box:
The first thing we notice about the ErgoStand is that it has a large 140mm fan in the center of a metal mesh platform that is adjustable to five levels (highest level pictured below at 45 degrees):
Besides a short manual included with the ErgoStand is a USB cable and two rubber holders which secure your notebook to the stand even when it is tilted as in the maximum position (above). ErgoStand is flexible enough to allow you to work as you wish. I expect you could even lay in bed with the stand on a breakfast tray and work away easily. The option for such a high tilt would also allow for a user to use a second full-sized keyboard comfortably or to use the Ergostand with a tablet PC. Hence the name ErgoStand, from ergonomics. It not only implies comfort and increased productivity but delivers on its promise. This editor found himself less fatigued typing by using the ErgoStand in the first tilted position over typing on a flat surface or in the stand’s default (6.5 degrees above horizontal) position.
Nice read. I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. He actually bought me lunch since I found it for him! So let me rephrase: Thanks for lunch!
