Firefox Attains 20% Market Share
Three days from now, on November 9, Firefox will be celebrating four years of existence. In those four years, Mozilla has taken Firefox from being virtually unknown to what is easily the second most used browser in the world.
The market share figures taken from Net Applications show that Firefox now holds 19.97% of the browser market as of the end of October and it is continuing its upward trend.
It is reported that there was a major increase in the number of users back in July with the world record release of Firefox 3. From September to October, there was a substantial increase of 0.51%, up from 19.46%.
Mozilla Firefox has changed the way a lot of people browse the internet and as such, congratulations are in order. It is my sincere hope that Mozilla and its competitors all continue to upgrade their products, so that we all will have a continually improving internet experience.
Top 5 Browsers:
Internet Explorer – 71.27%
Mozilla Firefox – 19.97%
Apple Safari – 6.57%
Opera – 0.75%
