HD 4770 available on Newegg
World’s first 40nm GPU, HD 4770 is now available to be purchased in the USA on Newegg. Right now Powercolor, Gigabyte, HIS and Sapphire models can be bought for $109.99 + S/H. This is a pretty good price considering this card is set to replace HD 4830 and performs very close to HD 4850.
This is the first time in history that the GPU is manufactured on a smaller fabrication process than CPU. Intel is currently producing CPUs on 45nm tech, while AMD/ATI has produced this GPU on TSMC’s 40nm fabrication process. The specs are 512MB GDDR5 memory, 128-bit wide memory bus, 640 Stream Processing Units. The core is clocked at 750MHz while the memory is clocked at 800MHz(3200MHz effective).
