Microsoft’s 3rd Windows PC vs Mac commercial goes for kids choice
Over the years we have been treated to Mac vs PC commercials by Apple in which Mac is shown in a very good light, and does everything better than PC. Microsoft tried to counter that by starting a not-very successful ad-campaign which featured Bill Gates and comedian Jerry Seinfield and the ads rarely made sense.
But Microsoft is back with its latest round of ads in a campaign called Laptop Hunters. The first ad showed Lauren, who wanted a big screen for least possible amount. Mac with a big screen was not in her budget of $1500. She went to Best Buy and found what she wanted for about $600. The second ad showed Giampaolo, a tech-savvy guy, who wanted something with power and good battery life for a reasonable amount which he found in a Windows PC.
This third ad goes for what 11 year old kids want. A good gaming computer, speed and a big hard drive. Lisa thinks that her Macs are popular with 1 year old kids and her son Jackson will like a Mac. She is amazed at the cost of the Macs, but thinks they are pretty. Jackson doesn’t buy a Mac because its a “little too small” and decides to go with a Windows PC.
