MP3 Players to get max volume restrictions in Europe
iPod has revolutionized the MP3 player market allowing other manufacturers to capitalize on apple’s success of selling flash memory based music devices. These days you see people walking around with earbuds playing music at full volume. The decibel rating in these music players is ear-shredding 125 decibels. European Union is plan to roll out a legislation that cuts the max volume of mp3 players from 125 decibels to 80 decibels. So how much is 80 decibel in comparative terms ?
According to the U.S. National Institute On Deafness And Other Communications Disorders (USNIODAOCD) (lol)
• 80 decibels is equivalent to the level of noise you’d hear on a busy city street;
• 90 decibels is lawnmower-like loudness;
• 110 is as ear-shattering as a loud rock concert;
• 120 to 130 matches the level of an airliner taking off
