Nvidia launches new mobile GPUs including Maxwell
Nvidia today announced the GeForce 800M line-up of notebook GPUs. This is a top to bottom line-up of new GPUs for notebooks that are not only faster and more power efficient than the previous generation, they also offer great new features for notebooks.
Nvidia’s new new line-up includes the world’s fastest notebook GPU, the GeForce GTX 880M, as well as GeForce GTX 870M, GeForce GTX 860M, and GeForce GTX 850M gaming GPUs.
Nvidia’s new lineup, comprised of GeForce GTX 800M GPUs, is up to 60% faster than previous-generation mobile GPUs, features improved power efficiency, and gives notebook gamers access to innovations like GeForce ShadowPlay, GameStream, and GPU Boost 2.0. But this year, GeForce GTX 800M also introduces the world to Battery Boost, a new feature that can double the amount of game time on a single battery charge, while still delivering great GTX graphics at playable framerates.
The lineup also includes the GM107-based GeForce GTX 850M as well as the GeForce 840M and 830M, which are powered by cutdown Maxwell GPUs. They will fit into the product stack above the current entry level GeForce 820M
These NVIDIA GPUs feature key NVIDIA technologies that automatically maximize consumers’ notebook performance and experience such as NVIDIA Optimus and GeForce Experience.
Nvidia’s OEM partners are packing more and more power into thinner and lighter notebooks. The Gigabyte P35R, Lenovo Y50, MSI GS 60, MSI GS 70 and Razer Blade are examples of thin and light GeForce-powered notebooks. The Alienware 17, Asus G750JZ, MSI GT 70, and MSI GT 60 are gaming powerhouses that come equipped with the world’s fastest notebook GPU, the GeForce GTX 880M.
