OCZ Readying Vertex Turbo Series SSDs
OCZ seems to be in love with the word ‘Vertex’. Already shipping “ordinary” Vertex, Vertex Mac Edition and Vertex EX –OCZ will soon will start to sell Vertex Turbo SSDs.
The Vertex turbo is said to offer a 10% performance improvement over the Vertex along with a 10% price premium. It hasn’t been revealed where this 10% performance improvement comes from. Available in 30, 60, 120 and 250GB capacities, Vertex Turbo are supposed to retail from $150 to $800 in the next few weeks. The drives feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface with 64 MB of cache delivering maximum read and write speeds of up to 278MB/s and 213MB/s.
