Phenom II X4 965 coming soon
Tweaktown reports that AMD is planning a new flagship CPU in the Phenom II lineup soon. The Phenom II 965 as this CPU will be known as, is expected to start sampling next week. The CPU is expected to be clocked 200 MHz faster than the current flagship CPU Phenom II 955 which is clocked at 3.2 Ghz. With 3.4 Ghz clock out of the box, the 965 should be able to compete better with Intel’s Quad CPU offerings. Price however is unknown at this time.
Additional information from Expreview indicates that the model number of this CPU is HDZ965FBK4DGI, and comes with a 512KBx4 L2 and 6MB L3 cache with a 125W TDP.
