Resident Evil 1 to be Remastered, Announced for 2015

Capcom has announced a fully remastered version of the original Resident Evil will be released in 2015. The title was originally released in 1996 as a PlayStation exclusive title. Resident Evil 1 has already been “remastered” for a 2002 release for the Nintendo Gamecube, and eventually the Nintendo Wii.

The RE1 remaster is coming to PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 as a digital-only title. Sadly missing from that list is the Wii U.

Gamers can expect upgraded visuals running at 1080p on new consoles, 720p on current-gen. The remaster will also feature 5.1 surround sound, a new camera system, and a choice to play 4:3 or 16:9.
