The battle of the HTPC cards, Galaxy’s GT 520 vs. HD 6450 (GDDR5 vs. GDDR3)
F1 2010
F1 2010 is a racing game based on the 2010 season of the Formula One world championship and the sequel to the 2009 video game in the same series. It was released in September 2010 by Codemasters. The EGO 1.5 engine powers it. The weather system is one of the best seen in a racing game and requires the player to adjust to changing track conditions. Watch out for bad AI drivers! First we test at 1680×1050 using ultra settings and 2xAA with the built-in benchmark.
We have unacceptable dips in the minimums for our target cards as they sputter around the track. Now we test at 1280×720 and with low settings and no AA.
Surprisingly the GT 520 has the advantage even over the GDDR5 version of the HD 6450 and takes the checkered flag. The GT 220 is a no show on this DX11 track.
