The iTwin makes secure transfer of data practical
Unboxing the iTwin
iTwin comes in a basic box for hardware that is just a bit longer than a regular flash drive.
The iTwin consists of two identical halves which are connected together and require very little force to remove. However, you will want to hold the end that is plugged into your PC’s USB port securely or you may accidentally disconnect it.
Here are the two halves separated. There are LEDs that light up to show activity.
The iTwin package points out the features of their product.
iTwin’s slogan is, “Two ends of a cable, no cable”
As you can see, iTwin is securely packed for shipping and there is a getting started guide that is easy to read and follow.
iTwin’s requirements are given as requiring a broadband connection. Actually, you can transfer data using iTwin over a 56K dial-up connection if you don’t have broadband. It will work although very slowly compared to broadband.
The instructions even include simple directions for editing files on the remote PC.
Well it looks easy enough. Let’s install iTwin on our home PC and then head for the Public Library to see if we can connect to it with our notebook PC.
