This evidently provides Nvidia with the thermal headroom needed to develop a dual-GPU card based on the GT200 core.<\/p>\n<p>It has been rumoured for some time that the GTX260 Core 216 would be the chip used for such a card. Well it has now been confirmed that this will in fact be done to create the &#8220;GTX260 GX2&#8221;. However, it will not go by the naming scheme that we are all used to: 7950 GX2, 9800 GX2. It is expected to be called the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.expreview.com\/2008\/12\/03\/dual-gpu-gtx260-gx2-officially-branded-as-geforce-gtx295.html\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/en.expreview.com\/2008\/12\/03\/dual-gpu-gtx260-gx2-officially-branded-as-geforce-gtx295.html', 'GeForce GTX295']);\" ><strong>GeForce GTX295<\/strong><\/a>.
