Lots of new products were released, lots of media, lots of hype for upcoming products<strong>, <\/strong>lots to get excited about, and lots to bring back from the show.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/image003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2468\" title=\"image003\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/image003.jpg?resize=328%2C216\" alt=\"image003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/image003.jpg 402w, https:\/\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/image003-300x197.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 328px) 100vw, 328px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Left behind after all this frenzy is the sad face of CES, which nobody knows and nobody covers in their articles. Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.intel.com\/technology\/2009\/01\/my_biggest_disappointment_at_c.php\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/blogs.intel.com\/technology\/2009\/01\/my_biggest_disappointment_at_c.php', 'Daniel Snyder in his blog on Intel.com']);\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Snyder in his blog on Intel.com<\/a>, this facet of CES has been revealed to the world. Specifically, we are talking about the lack-of planning for any recycling.\u00a0 In his blog, Daniel notes that the Las Vegas Convention Center &#8211; the venue for CES &#8211; is not even set up for recycling!\u00a0 As a result, the empty bottles and recyclables are sent off to a landfill, or as Daniel writes:<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> <em>&#8220;<\/em><em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\">Guess how much plastic is floating in the Pacific Ocean in huge masses? A few football fields worth?\u00a0 Try two swirling blobs totaling <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>TWICE<\/strong><\/span> the size of the United States.\u00a0 Serious! I am always astonished at the monumental waste at CES. Not just empty water bottles but mountains of brochures, glitzy giveaways, disposable carpets and enough electricity use to power many small countries.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is astounding, since the same companies which are displaying and promoting products in CES and are trying to look greener, are doing nothing about promoting green-ness elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Lets hope the organizers for next CES take the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alright, so International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2009 &#8211; one of the biggest technology oriented trade-shows &#8211; is\u00a0 over.
