Gomez<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What happened?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a beautiful site\u2026your boss likes it, your significant other likes it, you love it!<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it lacks usability and useable information.\u00a0 Usability is meeting the customers\u2019 needs\u2026not yours.<\/p>\n<p>Folks today are unbelievably impatient, intolerant.\u00a0 They expect to find what they\u2019re looking for <strong><em>NOW!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And they expect to do it without a lot of obstacles, hassles, hurdles.<\/p>\n<p>When the site doesn\u2019t meet their needs, they leave in the tap of a key.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Untitled-34.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25339\" title=\"Untitled-3\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Untitled-34.jpg?resize=279%2C187\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>Most of the time, it\u2019s the little things that turn them off, prove to them they need to leave you for a better, more friendly island.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Looks Good to You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cripes, you check it out, have folks on your team check it out and there\u2019s absolutely nothing wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Wait a minute.<\/p>\n<p>You check it out. Your people check it out.\u00a0 Nothing wrong.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all natural\u2026logical\u2026see?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not your site\u2019s problem\u2026it\u2019s the \u201coutsider\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\/she should move around your website, your island the right way.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is, a website is just software\u2026software that doesn\u2019t offer the visitor \u00a0manuals, any training.<\/p>\n<p>It has to be intuitive.<\/p>\n<p>Not to the people closest to the site but to folks who just drop in outta\u2019 the sky.<\/p>\n<p>Whether people are on your site to shop or for information\/assistance, Nielsen has found people abandon sites for a number of reasons including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wanted to      comparison shop &#8211; 37%<\/li>\n<li>Were      looking for other customer feedback\/inputs &#8211; 36%<\/li>\n<li>Needed      company, product, application information immediately &#8211; 27%<\/li>\n<li>Wanted to      shop offline or through a distributor &#8211; 26%<\/li>\n<li>Couldn\u2019t      find where to buy &#8211; 24%<\/li>\n<li>Couldn\u2019t      find assistance in making the proper selection &#8211; 23%<\/li>\n<li>Couldn\u2019t      find customer support &#8211; 22%<\/li>\n<li>Security      concerns &#8211; 21%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Business websites \u2013 B2B or B2C \u2013 shouldn\u2019t be terribly complicated.<\/p>\n<p>Folks visit them to research\u2026something.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Multichannel Shopping Behavior<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a product.\u00a0 They research online, buy online or in the store and increasingly, double-check just prior to the purchase using their smartphone for available coupons or to ensure they\u2019re getting the best value available.\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Source &#8211; Google<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If we want to be entertained, we\u2019ll visit YouTube or turn on our Roku box.<\/p>\n<p>Making the website overly complicated, overly beautiful doesn\u2019t improve the trip.<\/p>\n<p>Hugo will simply look around and say, <em>\u201cDude!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>People want the basics first, and they want them fast.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Most Useful Website Feature<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Untitled-53.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25342\" finding his\/her way around the web when they are researching a product or service.\u00a0 If your ratings\/reviews are all \u201cextremely disappointing,\u201d perhaps it is best to improve the product\/service rather than hide the information.\u00a0 No one has 100% acceptance, so consider only listing the ratings, reviews that are more positive but be aware that the minor negatives add to your credibility and may keep people from shopping elsewhere.\u00a0 Source \u2013<strong> Bazaarvoice<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You\u2019ll probably get a little push back from your boss when you suggest putting up ratings, reviews, product comparisons but you have to remember, that information is out there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Island in the Sun<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s your website, your island they\u2019re visiting, so you this is your chance to interpret the product comparisons\u2026the right way.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than \u201cimpartial\u201d third-party ratings\/reviews, set up a user forum.<\/p>\n<p>It can serve two purposes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide you with a great location to get customer inputs on where improvements, enhancements can be made<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gives customers a place where they can discuss problems, issues, solutions<\/p>\n<p>And it gives the company a place to show it understands, listens to people\u2019s wants\/needs.\u00a0 It enhances your credibility.<\/p>\n<p>Once the basics are met, the company can move into other information areas people want to tap into to strengthen their relationship with you.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Desired Web Site Content, quickly, easily find names, phone numbers, email addresses of people who have the answers and information.\u00a0 \u201cLiking,\u201d Tweeting are a lot different from talking\/helping.<\/p>\n<p>Media people constantly hit huge air pockets when they want product information, images, an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the press portion of the website and you\u2019ll find the published releases but the name, email address, phone number of someone who can help you right now?<\/p>\n<p>Sorry, fill out the form\u2026we\u2019ll get around to you!<\/p>\n<p>Publicists should be at least as strong as Hurley and say, <em>\u201c<\/em><em>Let&#8217;s look death in the face and say, \u2018Whatever man.\u2019.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The most gaping hole in most websites is the place for customers to come together to get support, assistance so they can survive with the product\/service they bought from you.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Untitled-81.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25345\" work-arounds, applications.<\/p>\n<p>Why should \u201cWe Hate XYZ\u201d sites have all the travelers?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Help \u2018Em<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No not just an automated help desk but a customer discussion board, a forum, a place where people can go to tell others what a great product\/service you have and how they\u2019re using it.<\/p>\n<p>According to Forrester Research, the average live agent customer support transaction costs $25 but the average cost of a customer-driven web solution is only $.03.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, it can make you money if it convinces website visitors that the company cares about, assists, works with its customers to ensure they\u2019re satisfied with the product\/service.<\/p>\n<p>The self-service, customer-helping-customer approach solves the very specific and basic set of queries\/issues.<\/p>\n<p>It also gives the company the opportunity do what they need to do today\u2026run their business in realtime.<\/p>\n<p>The information enables you to understand your most valuable customers and gives you a roadmap for acquiring more like them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Business Video<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s one of the most popular sites on the web, it\u2019s surprising that only a few really smart companies haven\u2019t followed YouTube\u2019s lead and added video segments.<\/p>\n<p>Most communications people are probably reluctant
