Major Nelson announced today that Microsoft would begin taking sign-ups for the Xbox 360 Dashboard Update expected later this year.<\/p>\n

Users can apply for the Beta through their current Xbox 360 Dashboard hub.<\/p>\n

As stated in Major Nelson\u2019s blog about the update:<\/p>\n

It will include updates to improve overall performance and the ability to conduct transactions with local currency, as Microsoft Points will be retired later this year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Some items on the Xbox 360 can already be purchased in local currency form. Most of the \u201cXbox Live Ultimate Sale<\/a>\u201d items are priced this way.<\/p>\n
