The 4770 is ATi\u2019s upcoming 40 nm GPU (due in May according to the rumors), and according to leaked slides which appear genuine, it\u2019s positioned as a competitor to the 9800 GT, at a lower price\u00a0of $99. The slides show performance gains over said nVidia card ranging between 10%-50%.<\/p>\n
Perhaps even more interesting is the section about Stalker Clear Sky, demonstrating higher quality shadowing and MSAA, along with a performance gain from DX10.1. This combined with claims of other DX10.1 titles<\/a> showing performance gains (Battleforge<\/em>, HAWX<\/em> and Stormrise<\/em>), could start making DX10.1 a desired feature. Implementations in many earlier DX10.1 games were less than stellar, to say the least.\u00a0<\/p>\n If the 4770 is faster than the 9800 GT at a price point of $99, it\u2019d surely cause nVidia to lower their prices.
