My fellow Jamaican, the world\u2019s fastest man, Usain Bolt, was today involved in a car accident in one of the world\u2019s fastest cars. The 2009 BMW Coupe that he was driving, crashed off Highway 2000 and overturned. The trio were reportedly on their way from Old Harbour in St. Catherine to Kingston.<\/p>\n
Bolt and the two female passengers in the car escaped serious injury and death. Bolt was treated at the Spanish Town Hospital (in my home town) and released with minor cuts and bruises (reportedly on his toes). One of the other passengers is being treated for minor head injuries.<\/p>\n
Police reports say that the wet road conditions combined with speeding may have been what caused the crash. The 2009 BMW Coupe was a gift from his sponsor Puma, which he received after his stunning world record performances at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.<\/p>\n
