Originally Nvidia didn’t allow SLI to run on Intel’s LGA 775 platforms, due to fear of decrease in sales of its competing Nvidia chipset based motherboards. Nvidia only recently allowed SLI on Intel chipsets with the launch of Intel X58 chipset based platform.

Expreview.com has managed to acquire the software hack from Firewings [CCG] and managed to verify the validity of the hack. The managed to pair together two GTX260+’s on ASUS Maximus II Formula motherboard based on the P45 chipset. Expreview adds, “By installing the software that Firewings [CCG] provides us, we managed to enable SLI configuration in Directory Services Restore Mode. Due to some “small problems” according to Firewings [CCG], the SLI configuration can’t be realized in normal mode for now, but he says this will be fixed soon.”

SOURCE: Expreview

An enthusiast by the name of Firewings [CCG] has managed to get SLI to run on his ASUS Maximus Formula motherboard based on Intel X38 chipset, with one NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT and one GeForce...

[6
34,1976,121,1274,488,1977,1978
post-9960","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news","tag-intel","tag-lga775","tag-nvidia","tag-p45","tag-sli","tag-x38","tag-x48
["GET
