So this guy stole a car (likely 10s of thousands of dollars worth of property), rammed a squad car with it, and the destroyed the car he stole and another one by crashing into it? After a dangerous high speed chase where innocent citizens could have been killed?
And the cops didn't treat a good guy like that well?

Dave, a criminal could tie up five innocent bystanders, burn them alive, gun down 20 cops with a machine gun, desecrate their corpses, and you would post "Brutal police taser innocent until proven guilty civilian. Damn those bastards!".
