Intel Cancels Phone And Tablet Hardware

The problem is that Intel never offered a compelling tablet/smartphone chip.  Their performance was always pretty good but the devices with Intel CPUs always had really bad battery life.  This is too bad, though.  Most if not all of the cheap Chinese Windows 10 tablets use Intel Atom CPUs and they are actually great devices.

I really do think that x86 is at a big disadvantage in mobile applications because it has higher power consumption.

This guy says he talked to intel and they only scrapped a current gen chip, still working on 5G:
