Then there are the comments.
98% total positive when every single article about pascal(1070 or 1080) is flooded with 90% anti Nvidia and anti pascal.
Very funny indeed.
Anyhow, how are people not concerned here. The tdp of 150watts....it's really shocking. All this talk about superior 14nm and how much of a disadvantage Nvidia is stuck in with their 16nm tech....
Wholly crap!!!
The r9 480 has a TDP of 150watts....the same as the 1070? The 1070 will be significantly faster. AMD is now officially in the same position they got in with intel. A massive perf per watt loss here.
And how much do you guys think people will scrutinize amd when it comes to their marketing fluff? Like their bogus crossfire claim.
It's very interesting that they specifically had the 290 in their presentation. Not the 290x. The 290.
I do believe there will be a 480x and it's gonna cost more than the 200 bucks they are trying to sell polaris on. But the clock speed and specific mention of 290 makes me think that this 480 will not be in 390x territory. More like 290.
Then perhaps a 480x, which will cost more and perform higher. But considering they are already at 150watts TDP....I think they have some real bad issues.
I mean....wth?
It's really a shame. Nvidia will be able to swat these chips down with a 128 bit gp106. There is no performance per watt advantage for polaris..not from the looks of it. If the 1070 is that much faster at a similar wattage, a gp106 will make it look really really bad.
I am just having trouble seeing how this is looking good to some people. It looks like amd is in shit creek and without a life jacket.
Maybe it's just a big ploy and amd is really trying to throw everyone off.
