AMD Computex Presentation

Also, you have to say Nvidia got pathetic results from their new node while praising am for getting significantly less from their 14nm node.
Say the most illogical and dimwitted things, like "I am glad amd didn't have to push up the clocks on their design right off the bat" somehow...no matter how insane...claim that this low clock speed is an advantage. See, cause amd can increase higher clocked cards later on and this makes them better.

Here is the strangest part of all of this.  These freaking morons go on parading the slow amd card as some kind of super advantage cause amd has special insight...like you know, no one ever thought about low to mid range gpus before.  Like amd invented this market with polaris.
What they heck are these guys smoking?
Do they honestly not know that Nvidia will release lower tier products, that the gp106 will come to market?  I mean, how is it an advantage that the only thing amd will have for many months is these low budget tier cards?  Nvidia will have a top to bottom stack.

Polaris is not gonna be the only lower tier option.  What the heck are they thinking?

Here is my thoughts.
Polaris will not have the low end all by itself. Nvidia will release gp106 which will compete directly with the 480. Amd troopers will say that it's some magical way that Nvidia launch gp106 after the polaris makes Nvidia inferior.  Even though Nvidia will have a top to bottom stack, from cards that demolish anything amd has to cards that perform on par.  But this somehow will be spun as a disaster for Nvidia.

Vega is not coming in Oct.  This is just a ploy to try to hold off gp104 adoption.  If they get peop6to hold off that long, they will then start over saying....Vega is just around the corner.

Also, Vega will not be all that powerful compared to the 1080.  Amd has a long way to go on order to top the new geforce.  Vega looks to be a die shrink fiji, they need higher clocks to best the 1080. So, they will be lucky to notch it out.

This is all pretty accurate.

They're not smoking anything, they're getting something and they're likely people that "need" what they get.

I never had a household income below $100,000 when I was in the Focus Group, and either my wife or I could always afford the basic bills (mortgage/cars/utilities) so I could always afford the latest video card. This, plus the fact NV always gave me stuff that was arguably the best, made it pretty easy for me to say "This is really good stuff." with a clear conscience. (and I never said anything I didn't consider true about the parts)

But what if you are a person who can't easily buy the parts?

What if you're some guy living on your own working at Geek Squad making $40K a year and most of that goes to rent/car/food?

If you're THAT guy getting a few $500 video cards a year and some games is a big deal, you might  not be able to get the stuff at all without AMD donating it.

That guy might "sell out" and say seemingly crazy stuff like we're seeing because it's that or watch everyone else playing with the toys you can't afford and don't have much hope for.
