His forums look largely like a collection of conversations between Apoppin and Sick Beast, and that isn't exactly the "bigger than Google, worldwide meeting place" he had envisioned.

It's mostly two guys chatting about a. what NVIDIA did for Apoppin this week b. how huge BTR is going to be.

LOL- I told Apoppin years ago when he was part of starting ABT that tech forums are dead, most of the people who post on them are paid to do so. The golden age of tech forums has waned into a latter day rust belt, the old empire fallen into a shabby viral marketing scam with a couple old ghosts like us coming to it because it's a habit.

Tech forums are experiencing what newspapers experienced.

That is why places like AT have to protect the shills. The only money left is ad money paid for with the protection of marketeers. Used to be independent thought was the draw of such forums, now they have all sold out for jobs and/or cash.

Like most things in life, follow the money.

Dave rarely posts any more. I can see why he would shut it down. Why should he pay to watch you two argue?

I don't have the knowledge to fix the site, my tech skills are totally unrelated to web site maintenance. I'm not a writer.

I've used the site like a tech forum, largely posting my thoughts on tech and tech companies.

I think Bofox left for three reasons:

1. I don't think he liked me aping his "You guys have a cock! Come back to ABT and be roosting cockatiels!" post. To which I would say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that it was an unusual phallic centric writing style that was fun to recreate.

2. There's not a lot going on here since you, GStan, and Apoppin flew the coop and basically created two forums, half the size.

Yes, but he also left ATF around the same time as he left here. I really hope something didn't happen to the guy. He is/was a genuinely nice person. We had some good times at ABT.

Actually Rollo has been somewhat ok lately. Not too far off his rocker. I don't mind him if he can remain relatively peaceful. The problem is that these peaceful times are few and far between.
