53Ghz in One PC
Cooler Master has a video titled “53 GHz in one case” up on Youtube in which they are promoting their latest feat which they will be showing at CeBIT 2009 in Hall 21 at booth DE39.
The title may be a misleading since they arrived at 53 Ghz by using 5 x 2.66Ghz Quad core processors. So that is 5 x 4 x 2.66Ghz. But the clock frequency does not scale like this.
But what they did is quite interesting. They have 5 motherboards in a single PC chassis, the Cooler Master ATCS 840-Tower. All the systems are powered by a single Cooler Master Real Power M 1000 power supply. Systems have an independent processor, an independent board, independent memory, and separate disk drives. They are using 2.5″ Disk Drives to reduce noise and power consumption.
And its pretty cool to see them turn on all the system one by one.
