The GTX 770 arrives to Challenge the HD 7970 GHz Edition – 25 Games benchmarked!
A look at the GTX 770
Nvidia has redesigned their GEFORCE logo in all caps in this professionally rendered image beginning with the GTX 690. You can see the 6+8 pin PCIe power connectors used for the GTX 770.
We can also see that there are two dual link DVI ports, a HDMI 1.4a port. and a DisplayPort in the closeup below. To run 3 panel Surround off of a single GTX 770, we used two DVI connectors and a passive DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Quiet Gaming
Here is the vapor chamber that Nvidia uses for the GTX 770 that is also used in the Titan. In Nvidia’s internal testing, the GTX 770 is about 4db quieter than the GTX 680 which is already a quiet board. And Nvidia’s partners are free to use their own custom cooling solutions which are also available today on the launch day. Here you can see the GTX 770’s PCB which measures 10.5 inches long for the reference board. This is the obverse.
The GTX 770 is a very good looking card that fits in well with Nvidia’s GTX 690, Titan and GTX 780 as “Industrial design”.
SLI and Tri-SLI
The GTX 770 is set up for SLI and Tri-SLI. We hope to cover SLI performance of the GTX 770 in an upcoming article.
The specifications look extraordinary with incremental but solid improvements over the GTX 680. Let’s check out performance after we look at our test configuration on the next page.
