ATI Radeon HD 5450 Preview: DX11 For The Masses
Introduction
ATI has been leading the way with DirectX 11 (DX11) products since late last year and they are staying true to their promise of saturating the market with them. AMD’s plan for “DX11 from $600 to $60” in just over 4 months is turning out just as they said it would. The Red Team is still the only manufacturer to offer DX11 GPUs and their latest deployment is the Radeon HD 5450.
The Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for the HD 5450 has just now been lifted and we are able to release details about this card. I should be receiving my sample later today from AMD along with another video card still under NDA.
You can be sure that I will put them through their paces for ABT’s readers to see what they can really do. You can expect hard numbers on Monday at midnight or to be exact, Tuesday February 9 at 12:01AM EST. That is when the other embargo will be lifted. Do bookmark our site and check in at exactly that time for the publication of the full review of these cards. The HD 5450 will be benchmarked along with a GeForce 8500GT, a GeForce 9800GT and a new mystery card from AMD.
More on the HD 5450 after the jump.
