AMD Radeon 6850 Performance Test

A new performance record is achieved given the 6850 is 46.25% faster than the 5770; Quake 2 (source port), Quake 4 and Riddick are all over 50% faster.

This page really highlights the superiority of AMD’s OpenGL performance over nVidia in games. The GTX470 is in a higher performance and cost bracket, yet every game here either shows the 6850 being close to the GTX470, or beating it.

The 6850’s performance in Quake 4 can only be described as phenomenal and it actually outruns my GTX480 in the same situation. One can only dream what a 6970 would score in this test, and I should get the chance to test a 6950 very soon.
