AMD: There is no codename RV870

The internet has been running wild rumors of upcoming AMD and Nvidia DX11 GPUs. Codenames which make sense when you look at the past codenames have come up. On AMD side RV870, RV840, RV810 have been speculated on. But in an interview Sasa Marinkovic, senior marketing manager EMEA at AMD, confirmed that there is no such codename. OF course this could  be company policy to deny any rumors or speculations on an unreleased product. But time will tell what the real codename is and Sasa confirmed that that time would be at the end of this year when AMD launches its DX11 GPUs. So now the question left to be answered is if AMD is using new codenames ? If yes, then why ?

Stay tuned.
