Android Devices to be Powered By Nvidia 64-Bit Processors Next Year
According to Extremetech, Nvidia has bumped up their release roadmap so the Tegra 6 aka “Parker” should be coming sooner than expected. This is based on new reports that Nvidia may have started working on a 64-bit chip back in early 2010 or 2011. If this is true, we could see the so-called “Project Denver” 64-bit processor in late 2014 as part of the Parker SoC.
In the meantime, Nvidia will move forward with the Tegra 5 “Logan” SOC which is expected to debut early next year. This chip is based on the ARM Cortex A15 CPU architecture and will bring CUDA support, OpenGL 4.3 support, and powerful GeForce GPU cores also.
