Intel’s Core i5 and i7 CPUs might be getting all of the column inches and user interest at present, but the CPU giant aren’t quite done with their Nehalem architecture just yet – Early 2010 should see the launch of their first Core i3 CPUs, with leverage this architecture while also proving to be the first CPUs to feature an on-chip integrated graphics core. In anticipation of this, ASUS have given us an early pictorial look at their P7H57D-V EVO motherboard which should coincide with this release – A part based around Intel’s new H57 motherboard chipset but looking set to be an interesting hybrid of support for value CPUs wrapped around a relatively high-end feature set.

"We might as well start out with an overall look at the motherboard as a whole, where we can see that the P7H57D-V EVO is a full ATX motherboard that certainly isn’t prepared to skimp on features and functionality despite its support for value CPUs. This plan extends all the way through to the motherboard’s support for discrete graphics solutions, with this part sporting two PCI Express slots for graphics boards complete with both AMD CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI support, and providing eight lanes of PCI Express 2.0 bandwidth when both slots are utilised in such a configuration. Alongside this we also find three further PCI Express 1x slots and a couple of legacy PCI slots, leaving you with plenty of options in term of expansion slots."
