There are three tests in the suite: a GIMP image editing test, an H.264 compression test using Handbrake and a multitasking test that creates a huge file archive in 7-Zip while playing back a video.
This is a comprehensive test that I really like and it was used as a 3-in-1 test for easy comparison.

The trend continues as the i7 pulls ahead in every test in this suite. Now let us see what happens when we overclock the Q9550S to the same clock speed as the 2600K.
Even at 3.4GHz it still wasn’t able to come close to the Core i7. Another win for the P8P67.

Why such dramatic differences with certain games? Sometimes this new P67 board wins by nearly 100% over the older Core2 Q9550 platform, but the older platform wins by even larger margins in older games?!?

WTH happened with 2600k in several gaming tests??
I presume it’s not MSI, so what’s happening with Intel chipsets lately?
