ASUS P8P67 Motherboard Review
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1 x64
CrystalDiskMark is a small HDD benchmark utility for your hard drive that enable you to rapidly measure sequential and random read/write speeds.
You can perform sequential tests in reading and writing, but also random testing in reading and writing in packets of 512 KB and 4 KB. More precisely, it will be possible to vary the number of iterations of these tests and the size of the files used: 50, 100, 500 and 1000 MB.
The tests were done using 5 iterations of the 100MB file size.
Again, first the X48:
Then the P67:
The older platform dominated this test with the P8P67 only managing to be superior on two of the eight segments. The P8P67 pulled better numbers in the 512K Write test and the 4K QD32 Read test.
A bit of give and take overall with the hard disk operations but the P8P67 still does not disappoint.
Love the EFI bios!
Why such dramatic differences with certain games? Sometimes this new P67 board wins by nearly 100% over the older Core2 Q9550 platform, but the older platform wins by even larger margins in older games?!?
An interesting find, thanks Leon Hyman. It’s baffling and also a bit disappointing.
WTH happened with 2600k in several gaming tests??
I presume it’s not MSI, so what’s happening with Intel chipsets lately?
I meant it’s not ASUS’s fault xD
