ATi RV870 in July?
The RV870 is ATi’s upcoming 40 nm DirectX 11 GPU, and according to German website heise online, it could be here as early as July.
Given ATi’s first 40 nm desktop GPU (the 4770) is due on the 28th of this month, it would seem the 40 nm process is working out quite well for ATi. Sightings of the 4770 have already been made.
With nVidia’s DirectX 11 GPU (the GT300) not rumored until October, ATi has a real chance of delivering a DX11 part several months ahead of their rival.
