Commodore 64 does tweets
Who would have imagined that the twitter would spread to a vintage PC called commodore 64 with the CPU running at 985 KHz, maximum screen resolution is 320×256 and 64 KB of memory. On man did, his name is Vanden Brande. Brande has made an application called BREADBOX64 for commodore 64 which allows you to tweet your status from a real commodore 64. The application runs on an underlying OS called Contiki.
Here is what Vanden Brande has to say, “The commodore 64 will always have a sweet spot in my heart. Although not my first computer – that would be an ADAM Coleco – the C64 was the first system on which I really started to develop software in assembler. Now, some 20 years later I still tinker with it and so why not combining a 21st century phenomenon, called social micro-blogging with a 20th century vintage computer!”
