Diamond’s HD4890 XOC ships in a predominantly red box with ATI’s Digital Superstar – Ruby gracing the cover. The box clearly mentions that this is XOC version of the HD4890, although it fails to mention the frequencies on this overclocked version. The cover also labels that the card uses 1GB GDDR5 memory, a PCI Express slot and included adapters in the package. These features won’t matter much to e-tail shoppers but could be very useful to a Brick & Mortar not so tech-literate shopper.
Upon opening the box, we see a short manual on getting started with using the card. The card is placed in thick protective foam which should prevent it from shocks in shipping and handling while its on its way to you. Nobody wants to receive a dead card ? Right ? We would have to give Diamond credit here for ensuring the safety of the card.
Included in the box is the Video Card manual, driver installation disk, customer service number, Crossfire Bridge, DVI to VGA adapter, DVI to HDMI adapter, HDTV component out adapter, Video Out via composite and S-Video adapter as pictured on the box.
