Well, this concludes Part 1, Diamond HD 4870 XOC Preview.

Thanks, Karan!  An excellent preview which made me want to tear right into benchmarking it.  Well, the benchmarking is done and the results are graphed and ready to be published shortly.

This current completed testing included 4870-1GB, 4870-X2 and GTX280 to see how our Diamond 4890-XOC did at its stock overclock (925/1050) and also mildly overclocked (955/1060) to demonstrate how it scales.   All 15 benchmarks are completed and the conclusions will be very interesting.  Our readers can expect this coming Part 2 in a few days!

Best of all, we have further testing planned for you as we examine the architectural differences between 4870 and 4890.  Further we will also explore 4890 CrossFire and “FrankenFire”  which would include pairing 4870 with 4890 and also AMD’s two fastest cards in CrossFireX-3 – 4890 + 4870-X2.
