Diamond Multimedia BVU1000 1080p USB to HDMI converter
The Diamond Multimedia BVU1000 package comes bundled with the Displaylink Program for PC; if you have a MAC you can download the program on the Displaylink website. You can designate whether your system sends a mirror of your desktop or if it extends the desktop. The software also allows you to control the resolution and color depth of an extended display, and even rotate the extended image by 90, 180, or 270 degrees to match the way you have your TV mounted. Restaurants for example typically have the Monitors vertical showing their menu.
After I installed the software and then plugged in the adapter to my HDTV I loaded a DVD from an old family friend that had just come back from Egypt in December 2010.
I started to look at the video and pictures on the laptop but on the small screen just doesn’t do the movies and images justice. After the adapter put the video and pictures on the big HDTV it was almost like being there. The high resolution and color was amazing. Laptop screens just don’t compare to an HDTV.
It also goes without saying about the audio. The laptop speakers are horrible but the adapter sends the audio through to the TV which is connected to a nice 5.1 sound theater system so it’s just like watching the movies from the DVD/BlueRay player but using the laptop instead.
Watching HQ YouTube videos, TV, and Netflix all from the laptop on the big screen is awesome.
Pros
- Easy to install software
- Easy to hook up the two cables
Cons
- None
If you want to connect your HDTV with your laptop I highly recommend this adapter.
The Diamond Multimedia BVU1000 retails for $102.99 and is available now and I’ve seen sites offer it as low as $81.99

Cool, it’s great to know about this, if I want to hook up my old laptop to my HDTV! Interesting, great review btw.
Thank you kind sir. It is quite cool to be able to hook up the laptop like that. Always wanted to do that once got the big screen.
Jeter could be struggling this year, but there is certainly precedent for Hall of Fame caliber players to step it up past 40, even if they had been on the decline. Check out the careers of Paul Molitor and Rickey Henderson for excellent recent examples of this.
