Exclusive Core i5 Lynfield Preview
It is still a little while before the Core i5 Socket 1156 is released by Intel next month and we at AlienBabelTech are looking over a few pre-release scores of 3DMark06 and Super Pi 1M scored with stock Core i5 750 and stock GTX 295. Since we are not under NDA with Intel, we thought we share them with our readers.
First the CPU-Z shot. 2.8 GHz with a multiplier of 21 and a bus speed of 133 MHz:

How about pie? No … well then, SuperPi:
It is only right to run GTX 295 with the new Core i5. We are hearing that Nvidia may be launching a new promotion that will include discounts for Nvidia videocards when consumers buy the new Intel Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs.
The results are impressive and speak for themselves. However, it is always best to compare these scores to something. Stay tuned as we expect to see and publish the results of an identically configured Core i7 system tomorrow.
