GeForce 285.62 Performance Analysis
Benchmarks & Conclusion
Here are our results of 24 benchmarks – 21 games and 3 synthetics – compared between GeForce 270.61 and 275.33 using the GTX 580 and the GTX 590.
“Wins” are in bold; if there is a tie, both results will be in bold type.
We note some real performance improvement with the new drivers for DiRT 3 as well as for Deus Ex: Human Revolution; even F1 2010 got a noticeable improvement in framerates. Generally we found the same improvements that Nvidia noted with the same games that we tested.
We also noted a lot of improvements for 3D Vision and we will be covering this in a follow-up article. We also appreciated the very useful features in Nvidia’s GeForce 285.26 drivers and we recommend that you download and upgrade to the very latest drivers no matter which Nvidia video card that you may have!
We have to also give our highest recommendation to the latest GeForce drivers. In many cases they provide slight performance increases with no real negatives that we have encountered.
Stay tuned next for a 3D Vision Driver performance analysis. ABT is debuting a new regular feature to begin in a few days. We have had many requests for 3D Vision-related information since our 3D Vision Mega Evaluation – Gimmick or Gaming’s Future? Feel free to join us in our forum and help us grow our 3D section.
We will be back to compare performance of the new GeForce WHQL drivers when they are released next and we shall also cover AMD’s Catalyst 11-10 later on this week. We also have a evaluation of Core i3-2105 in gaming (versus Phenom II) coming up and Part 3 of our SLI versus CrossFire Series. Happy gaming!
