GeIL intros 1.2V DDR3 Memory
GeIL first introduced its green series of memory lineup with DDR2 memory. But it didn’t turn out to be a successful investment and the DDR2 lineup is being phased out due to the motherboards not offering low enough voltage options. Now, GeIL is trying the idea on DDR3 memory. They are offering DDR-1333 modules operating at 1.2V instead of the JEDEC default 1.5V. They will ship a 6-GB triple channel kit based on these modules and according to the representatives the kit should have a 5% premium over the regular models.
