Genius’ Ring Pointer Review
A Closer Look at the Ring Pointer
To us, the most disappointing part of the Ring Pointer is the lack of mouse capabilities that the Ring Mouse has. At first, the Genius Ring Pointer looked like it has the same mouse functionality that Ring Mouse did with the center button.
The Ring Pointer is just that – a presenter, and most will do just fine with the product. It works flawlessly and with a long-enough range that most teachers and presenters will have no trouble using it.
An important part of a device like the Ring Pointer is comfort for the user. The device wraps around your finger with a “natural rubber ring.” The rubber on the presenter did wrap around our finger nicely and never felt too tight or awkward. The device felt natural after only a couple of minutes of use.
The front of the Ring Pointer houses the charging port that is accessed by pulling back a rubber cover. The cover will always stay attached to the device in a slot just under the micro-USB charging port. The front is also the location of the laser pointer on the device.
As mentioned before, the top of the device features a blue LED indicator light that will flash when the battery is low. When the device is being charged, the blue LED will also shine.
