GlobalFoundries & T-RAM bring denser caches to future chips
GlobalFoundries has announced a joint development agreement with T-RAM which will allow GlobalFoundries to use T-RAM’s Thyristor-RAM embedded memory technology in its upcoming 32nm and 22nm fabrication processes. According to plans GlobalFoundries plans to ramp up production of 32nm bulk process in the fourth quarter of this year with 32nm SOI (Silicon on Insulator) following in first quarter of 2010. Thyristor-RAM will be used in both of these flavors of 32nm fabrication process.
