Google Chrome OS due next week(?)
A rumor that we spotted over at TechCrunch says Chrome, Google’s brand new web-centric operating system primarily targeted first at netbooks will be launched this coming week.
Months ago, Google said that an early version of the Chrome OS would be available this fall. Well, since Winter begins in about a month, it is certainly possible. Chrome OS is intended mainly for netbooks and it will run on both x86 and ARM chips. It will be in beta until the final versions are expected for release in Q2 next year.
There is a lot of speculation about this new Chrome operating system and whether it will impact Microsoft Windows sales or not. Well, perhaps we shall have an early look next week. Stay tuned.
