Google is “Googlle” today
Some of you might have missed it, but google’s doodle on their homepage is spelled as “Googlle” today. Fortunately, it’s not google’s sloppiness (That would be an event in itself !). So why does google’s doodle have two l’s ? It’s birthday time for Google. Move over your mouse cursor to the doodle and you’ll see the proof.
It’s also a reference to an old technology called the typewriter, when the typists often used l’s as a replacement for the number 1.
Since the exact date of Google’s birthday is not known, Google posted a page saying "Google opened its doors in September 1998. The exact date when we celebrate our birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake." So I guess, the people over at google felt like brightening up this day of 2009 to celebrate google’s birthday (I feel for those who wanted to stay home on this sunday though !)
