GPU Shoot-Out – Part II – Setting New Benches

Fur Benchmark 1.2 is Open Gl and a synthetic benchmark.  We just run 19×12 resolution and 4xMSAA.

– it looks like a rotating big fur donut that has become recently infamous in tech discussions for overheating GPUs just by running this test.  We had no issues with it.

It’s hard for us to believe that the 4870-512 is faster than 4870-X2  or crossfireX-3.  Since Catalyst 8.9 showed a performance drop from Cat 8.8, we are suspecting ATi currently has issues with Open GL.
