Introducing Galaxy’s GTS 450 SuperOverclock
Heaven 2
Heaven 2 is a synthetic benchmark of the Unigine engine that will show up in at least two games this year. It features “extreme” tessellation which is a feature of DX11 that adds a lot of realism to the game. It also requires a next generation videocard to be able to run it well and even GTX 480 struggles at times. There is a brand new version of this benchmark, 2.1, but we chose to run version 2.0 beginning at 1440×900. We left off AA and set the tessellation to “normal”, not “extreme” as shown below:
The 8800 GTX will run this bench on DX10 and it looks very “flat” without tessellation, by contrast. Here is a DX11 screenshot:
Here is 1440×900 resolution.
For the rest of the test, we ran our GTS 450 against the HD 5750 in DX11 and the 8800 GTX older card on the DX10 pathway. Do not compare DX10 to DX11 results! The DX10 pathway is far less stressful than the heavy tessellation used on the DX11 pathway. Also, the visuals are far more impressive with DX11 over DX10 primarily because of tessellation. Now we test at 1680×1050 and also with 4xAA.
And now at 1920×1080; again the newer cards are on the far more demanding DX11 pathway:
Clearly the GTX 480 is the fastest and even GTX 450 SLI is much faster at this tessellation-heavy benchmark. There will be at least two DX11 games based on Unigine that are scheduled to be released this year.
It’s a phenomenal review!! I loved how you compared it with a 5750 and my old 8800GTX, plus how you did 450’s in SLI versus 5870 and GTX 480. And the fully-rounded arsenal of games is icing on the cake!
Awesome review, very cool that you added 8800GTX. I was considering swapping mine out for the 450 originally.

However, either PSU is probably sufficient if they are of reasonable quality and not defective. The card’s fan speed is variable, depending on the temperatures. Use Galaxy’s Xtreme HD Tuner or EVGA precision tool to monitor temperatures.
Happy to find out until this website successful in my iPhone , anything I would like to perform is actually functional. Thanks for keeping up to date with the most up-to-date.
