Introducing Galaxy’s GTS 450 SuperOverclock
Overclocking
It is expected that the GTS 450 relatively tame thermals and TDP would allow for extreme overclocking. The maximum temperatures achieved with “worst case” FurMark barely got SLI’d GPUs out of the 70s C. Clearly this GPU was built for overclocking. We used Galaxy’s own overclocking tool, Xtreme Tuner to overclock our GTS 450 reference version to synchronize both GPUs to Galaxy’s SOC speeds. Nvidia’s 260 drivers also allow asynchronous overclocking where each GPU can retain its own speed.
At idle, the temperatures are cool and the fan is completely inaudible at 20-30%. It is fixed to not go higher than 70% as it never appears to need to go higher. Our reference GTS 450 easily matched the speeds of the Galaxy GTS 450 SOC although its fan got a bit louder. We did not have a lot of time to spend with our pair of GTS 450s and we shall follow-up with trying to find their maximum overclock. One thing that we love about the Galaxy’s cooling fan design is that it is designed to flip out and even be completely removed from the videocard for a thorough cleaning. That way you can be certain that your cooling remains up to the task without clogging with otherwise hard to remove dust.
Let’s head for our conclusions about the GTS 450 and especially regarding the Galaxy GTS 450 SOC.
It’s a phenomenal review!! I loved how you compared it with a 5750 and my old 8800GTX, plus how you did 450’s in SLI versus 5870 and GTX 480. And the fully-rounded arsenal of games is icing on the cake!
Awesome review, very cool that you added 8800GTX. I was considering swapping mine out for the 450 originally.
i used the mother board MSI 880GM-E43 and A video card GTS 450 my question is what power supply should we used the 600W or 800W pls help me coz got problem in my video card the fan run slowly i just buy it now i used 600w power supply but my game got black screen everytime i play after 2minuts

However, either PSU is probably sufficient if they are of reasonable quality and not defective. The card’s fan speed is variable, depending on the temperatures. Use Galaxy’s Xtreme HD Tuner or EVGA precision tool to monitor temperatures.
Happy to find out until this website successful in my iPhone , anything I would like to perform is actually functional. Thanks for keeping up to date with the most up-to-date.
