Introduction To The ABT Builder’s Guide
INTRODUCTION TO THE ABT BUILDER’S GUIDE …
… and a little about the author.
Let me start by properly introducing myself. My name is Leon Hyman. Some of you may know me as Cheex from our forum. I am an Editor here at ABT and I live in the wonderful Caribbean island of Jamaica.
I have always been a proud Jamaican; proud of my heritage, my culture and my people. Our most recent achievement was at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Our sprinters did us proud and to them I say, Well done and congratulations on your personal achievements!!
My love for computers began in the mid to late 1990’s and I have since then tried my best to keep up with this fast-paced and ever-changing industry. September is my birth month and I am now almost 23 years of age. That makes me the youngest member of the Alien Babel Tech staff.
In Jamaica, Information Technology is still a growing sector. We are a developing country, and as such we have embraced the need to be computer literate. The youth of my country is the section of the population that displays the most interest in IT and many pursue careers in this or a related field.
I am a hardware junkie, always wanting the latest and greatest. On the other hand, the Jamaican economy could be in better shape; it’s not terrible but it could be better. That should, in a nutshell, explain why I am a bang-for-buck buyer.
Being able to have all the best computer hardware is all well and good, but to be honest, not just in Jamaica but on a global scale, only a few can afford the best. We all have different budgets and different spending habits. Therefore, getting the best bang for your buck is always a great option. For that very reason, I have done a lot of research on several different categories of computer hardware to be able to spot good deals and great bargains. Value for money is what pleases every customer.
Having said all that, I have put together a great guide for all of you. Whether you desire to build from scratch or just to upgrade, I am sure it will be useful to experienced system builders as well as beginners alike. It will also help to bring those of you who have been out of the loop for a while, back up to date.
Enough talking; check back soon for the ABT September-October 2008 Builder’s Guide.
