No External Power Needed on GeForce 9800 GT Green
Now for something new that you haven’t heard from Nvidia camp in the last few days. Among all the rebranding confusion that Nvidia has been in lately, they have finally made a good decision by deciding to release GeForce 9800GT Green. This card will have slightly lower GPU voltage requirements along with lower clocks. Core clock looks set to be reduced from 600 to 550MHz, while the shader clock will be decelerated from 1500 to 1375MHz. Due to lower GPU voltage this card will require no external power. Unlike the current 9800GT which requires an external 6-pin connector this card will not need a 6-pin connector and draw all the power from the PCI-Express slot. The card comes with a revised P360 PCB that has 512MB GDDR3 memories clocked at 900MHz.
